Would you be ready if your brand went viral today? First impressions are everything and that even relates to your brand.
I recently asked in a poll, is it better to have a website you are embarrassed by or no website at all. At first I saw everyone saying a website they were embarrassed by but then began to have more chime in. Here’s how the poll ended: And what I noticed is that many who said no website were those in my industry rather than others in other industries. The reason why having an old website won’t work is because when you have someone who lands on your website, they will have that first impression of something even you are embarrassed by. It takes about 50 milliseconds (that’s 0.05 seconds) for users to form an opinion about your website that determines whether they like your site or not, whether they’ll stay or leave.
So instead, you should focus on having a website that is going to have someone form a positive opinion about your brand when they land on your site. And in order to do that, you have to get to know who your dream client is and what they ultimately want. Then, you have to be able to strategize how your brand is the perfect solution for their needs.
This is why it is important to focus on the strategy piece of your brand so that you can have clarity on how to position your brand in a way that helps you stand out from competitors. Starting with a brand strategy session allows you to determine how your level of expertise can be highlighted within your brand to help position you as THE expert you are. (Spoiler alert: This is not something that starts and ends with your about page)
So I want you to look at your brand and determine if every aspect of it is highlighting you as the expert you are:
Do you have a clear strategy for your brand that aligns with your business goals?
Is your brand elements connecting to the core of who you are, what you do, and why?
Is your entire website something you are proud of because it meets your current level of success?
